Connected briefly with Robert, a director at SMBC who gave me some additional context on hiring needs within the organization. He shared that they’re looking to staff five Front Office UI/API roles and one Back Office role, all requiring Python programming skills plus SME-level experience in swaps or fixed-income derivatives. He also mentioned several Back Office Lead VP-level FTE roles expected to come live soon (here is one I saw online from a few weeks ago: REQ).
The market is noisy right now and I don’t own these requisitions, but if you’re interested in the opportunities, he confirmed that a few of the approved vendors include: Nutech, NSDI, and NTT Data. I’ve heard good things about this firm and from what I can see, the management roster looks fantastic.
